Level 1 - High Level meet in a 50m pool - These often have qualifying times (e.g. Nationals, Regionals etc)

Level 2 - High level meet in a 25m pool - These have qualifying times (e.g. Counties)

​

Level 3 - Low level meet, open meets like Ripley Rascals New Year Meet - These may have cut off times (i.e. they will not accept entries from athletes who are faster than the cut off time)

​

Level 4 - Lowest level meet like club champs

 

​​Galas -Club entered events where a team chosen by coaches is entered, and events are allocated. These are great way to for young athletes to get their first taste of competing

​

Open Meets - Competitions where athletes can gain times for future competitions 

​

Club Champs - Annual event where all club members are invited to compete in all distances and disciplines. This is another great opportunity for younger athletes to compete

When a meet is open for entry it will be displayed in Swim Manager. If there are cut off times or qualifying times only those your athlete qualify for will have a tick box.

 

If you are unsure what you should enter your athlete for please speak to a coach. Most competitions you have to be 9 to enter, but events like club champs everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter

 

It is advised that swimmers compete in a all disciplines as skills develop and preferences change as they grow. Also as each stroke uses different muscle groups it helps reduce the risk of injury from repetition.
